About Me

Brent was born in British Columbia, Canada and studied finance at Simon Fraser University which led to a 20-year career with three of the world’s largest multi-national corporations. As a child, Brent grew-up learning about real estate as well as new home construction (often pitching-in on family job sites) and dreamt about combining his love of real-estate with a tropical life-style.

In 2008, Brent met his future wife Janel and quickly learned that she too had life-long dreams of a tropical future. Their bond was instantaneous and it wasn’t long before Brent & Janel began travelling Mexico, Latin America & the Caribbean in search of their idyllic tropical destination to one day call home. In October 2021, they discovered Puerto Escondido and almost instantly fell in love with everything it had to offer. The food, climate, biodiversity, beaches, adventurous expat community & relaxed easy-going vibe was everything they had spent years searching for. Finally, their search for paradise was complete and now it was time to begin the next chapter of securing property and building their dream tropical-life home.

Brent permanently relocated to Puerto Escondido in the spring of 2025 and joined Bayside Real Estate with the goal of helping others discover the magic of Puerto Escondido while coaching them along their Mexican real-estate journey.
